It's Tuesday. And That Means Absolutely Nothing

- Sophie's 3rd birthday is just two days away. Can't even process that I have a THREE YEAR OLD. And NO, we're not having another kid.

- I ran another 5K a couple of weeks ago and now I have the bug. I want to do another. And another. Who is this person that has taken over my body and what has she done with the real Cara?

- We broke down and hired a biweekly cleaning service. All is right in the world again. There is really nothing better than coming home to a yummy clean house. Of course, the clean only lasts for 42 seconds, but those are 42 heavenly seconds.

- We got rid of the last of our tube TVs a couple of weeks ago. We tried to donate it to the local Goodwill but they wouldn't take it. A perfectly good 32 inch TV. We wound up taking it to the dump. I can't get over that.

- I have enough red clothes to do an entire load of them when I do laundry. I really need to diversify my wardrobe. I don't want to be known as the "lady in red", although I would love to have a song like that written about me. Sigh.

- I got hit on by a 90 year old white bearded fellow in the waiting room of my dermatologist yesterday. It was funny and flattering and creepy all at the same time. I think his 70 year old daughter, who was pushing his wheelchair, was embarrassed.

  1. LOL. We were asked non-stop about having a second child. I feel your pain.

Little old men are always winking and smiling at me. The older I get, the more I like it. :)

  2. My daughter will be 12 next Monday. People still ask us when we're going to have another one.

  3. I'm so jealous of your cleaning service. But do you find yourself picking up before they come? I would. I mean it would be shameful if a perfect stranger talked about how I don't make the bed right?

I can't believe they wouldn't take your tv! That's crazy talk right there. Maybe next time post it on FB and see if anyone on your friends list needs it. You just never know...

  4. When did you make the final decision? Just curious. My youngest is nearly 4 and I get asked at least once a week if we plan on more. (NO.)

I freecycled a lot of stuff. It was weird, because people would take things like a carpet remnant to be used in a bunny cage, but no one wanted a perfectly usable baby monitor or trike.

  5. Congrats on the 5K that is awesome. Also, we still have 3 tube TV's. LOL. We were looking at a 46-50 inch LCD. I can't believe Goodwill wouldn't even take the TV (did you go to the one in the Urgent Care parking lot)

  7. Loving this completely random stuff of life that makes great blog fodder. I love to flirt with older men. Until they start lifting the eyebrows. Then I excuse myself to the potty to avoid any further awkwardness.....:) No, that's never really happened, but I get scared it will one day. I do, though love to chat with old men. There are some great story tellers out there. Fascinating.

  10. LOVE that you are hooked on running...those 5K races are so fun and manageable, not like a marathon but still a huge accomplishment to girls like you and me! (For the record, I do NOT have a goal to ever run a marathon. I've seen the bleeding nipples and heard about the toenails falling off...yuck.)

Did you ever play 7 seconds in heaven? Your cleaning lady story reminded me of that and now I can't get that guy out of my head...

  11. I love flirting with old guys. I guess I'm just as creepy as they are...

3's a big number. It's not a baby anymore, but she's STILL not a big kid. Just a, well, medium toddler.

  12. Lady in Red is a pretty awesome song. Haven't thought about it in years, but I know I have it on a CD somewhere. I should get that on my ipod.

I wish I could catch the running bug or, at least, the not-sitting-on-one's-arse-eating-sugar-at-night bug.

We cut our cleaning lady to once a month, but I enjoyed my 42 seconds of tidy yesterday! Worth every penny.

  13. I got hit on by a painter yesterday.

Not like "Oooo la la, I am zee paintar from Paris and you a now my muse..."

But like a house painter guy who said I looked like his daughter and I said "Oh, she must be cute" and he said "yeah... she's hot"

    um.

  16. I've got the 5K bug, too. Let me know if you want to run one together. I'm looking for one in early December once I complete C25K.
