If you could win unlimited shopping from one store, which one would it be?
This is a tough one for me, because there isn't really a store that I normally visit that sells everything I would want for a truly uninhibited shopping spree.
However, there is one that sells everything I could possibly dream of, and then some, that I have never actually bought anything from: Neiman Marcus. When I was a kid, we got the Neiman Marcus catalog every year. I don't know why, we didn't order anything. We were more of a Spiegel family than Neiman Marcus, but somehow we were on the list. We would pore through the pages, dreaming about the wonderful things that we would order, if money were no object.
They have clothes and dresses. The most gorgeous dresses. They have shoes. The most fantastic high heel, flat, espadrille, wedge, strappy shoes. They have fab handbags. They have the most wonderful housewares and furniture. 80 bojillion threadcount sheets. And if I had thousands of dollars at my disposal, I would be shopping there in an instant. I would buy an entirely new wardrobe and totally refurnish the house.
And hey, they have free shipping!
Head on over to Shannon's to see what everyone else is talking about.

Sounds good. Apparently, I'm white trash cause I have never even seen a Neiman Marcus catalog or store.
ReplyDeleteWhen you head to NM for your shopping spree, please take me with you.
ReplyDeleteI WANT THOSE SHOES!
That is all.
Great choice! I used to love walking through the one in Atlanta! Yes, just taking a little stroll, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh shoes. I love shoes. And clothes. And purses. It could be why my closets are overflowing.
ReplyDeleteWe got that ridiculous Montgomery Ward catalog every year. Never Nieman; I won't even go into there store here. It scares me.
ReplyDeleteSpiegel! Oh, yeah! And the JC Penney catalog always intrigued me because of all the lovely bedroom ensembles I imagined myself having ... Ruffles in every color and pattern were this little girl's dream.
ReplyDeletenever had a catalog either ..i will have to get one now! :)
ReplyDeleteKohls! they have everything but food and even then you can find some like seasonal chocolates and gourmet popcorn.
ReplyDeleteNeiman Marcus for me too! All the handbags... shoes... make-up... clothes... perfection!
ReplyDeleteNeed a store that sells high-quality clothes but also food and books . . . doesn't Harrods in London have everything? Of course, it's in London so that's not that convenient for me.
ReplyDeleteMy ob/gyn office is in the same building as Nieman Marcus in Chicago. I walk through the store on my way to every single appointment. I have to say though that I barely look around, just assume that everything costs too much. Also, I am a bit intimidated by the black-clad perfection of the women who work there.
I will have a posting ready to go on next tuesday.thank you for having me on blogtrotting.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited the US on holdiday with my folks in Jan '92 we went to Neiman Marcus in San Francisco. I think the tour guide recommended it :)
