Bubble Bubble

Some nights, bath time is an exercise in my patience. She cries and screams and sputters. She wriggles away to the other end of the tub when I attempt to wash her hair or scrub her down. And rinsing might as well be pulling her toenails out.

But there are nights where she is playful. Where her squeals are of joy and we laugh and laugh. There is no predicting what kind of night I'm going to get prior to getting her into the tub, but how the process is going to go is evident very quickly. On the bad nights, I basically just soap her up, hose her down and we're done. On the good nights, we stretch it out and have ourselves a good old time.

To be sure, it is the hard times that make the easy that much sweeter and tonight was pure sugar.

*Her face is healing up nicely after last weeks run in with the stairs. She seems to be completely unaware of her injuries.

  1. Cutest ever bathtime pictures! I love them! She is so cute. I love the updated pic you have of her on the sidebar of your blog, too.
Bathtime can sometimes be a crazy battle in our house, too. My oldest son went through a phase where he HATED taking a bath - it was torture! And now, some nights, Dimitry refuses to get in the tub. It's hard getting him IN sometimes - never mind the struggle of actually washing his hair! But most nights, yeah, it's so much fun. Aren't they the cutest in the water?

  4. You ARE going to save that for for later, right? You know, when she becomes a teenager and you need blackmail material?

  6. Baby Jack used to love bathtime, and now getting him to take a bath is like wrestling a cat into a water filled tub.

Sometimes, though, he sits back to relax - or plays with the shampoo bottles - or dumps water out of tub for fun. Hey. Whatever it takes..

  8. I agree, some nights bath time is awesome and non-stop giggles. But other times, I can't open the wine fast enough.

Oh and that is some great hair!

  9. Awwww, that is adorable. Perfect for a wedding montage slide show in her way distant future lol.

Amazing how quickly kids bounce back. I'd probably still be asleep under the covers milking it for all it's worth lol.

  10. This looks so fun!

I was just thinking, looking at this post, how much bigger she's gotten since I started following you. She looks like a KID and not a BABY now. Amazing how time goes by.

  11. Have you introduced her to bath colors? Crayola makes them and they are little tablets you can put in the bath. She can learn her colors...and that red and blue make purple...

A bath was not complete without those for my girls!

  13. That is too cute!
My daughter was very similar with bathtime for several years, as if water on her head was like ripping out her hair.

  17. Oh yeah been there...... too many times...mine LOVES the bath so much now it's the kicking screaming to drag her out! Usually I just tell her there are bugs in the water and that does it, I know...bad me.

  19. My boys love bathtime, except for the being washed part.

I recommend bath crayons and the letters that stick to the sides of the tub and tile.

  20. mine now insists on doing it all herself and it takes about 6months just to bathe her one time

  21. So precious---and her boo-boos are starting to look a little better! Does she like getting her hair washed? Ryan's not a fan at all, and, depending on his tiredness level, a little shampoo does sometimes produce a meltdown.

  22. She's beautiful. Quick, send me a text so I can see her precious lil' bruised noggin on my phone. (You love me for that, huh???)

Love the triple mohawk. Would that make it a trihawk?
