Bring On The Big Guns

I took Sophie back to the doctor yesterday. She just didn't seem to be making the kind of improvement that you would expect after four days of antibiotics. Good thing, too. Turns out the ear infection that had been afflicting her right ear has now spread to her other ear as well. Guess that explains all of that crying. And here I thought she was doing it just to annoy me.

We decided to put her on the atomic bomb of antibiotics since the infection seems resistant to whatever girly-man antibiotics we were using before.

After a week of being cooped up in the house, I am sure she has cabin fever. I know I do. I've been trying to get her outdoors for at least a couple of minutes every day. I'm working on the theory that a little sunshine and fresh air can only be good for her. We've had some absolutely gorgeous weather around here lately, it's a shame to miss out on it altogether.

Now, if she could just get well so we can break out the cool sprinkler pool we got for her.

  1. You may want to give her some yogurt, too. I know some of those antibiotics can cause yeast infections. Just a suggestion. I'd hate for you to have to deal with that on top of everything else.

Sunshine and fresh air are the best medicine!

  4. Hopefully they switched antibiotic brands if it spread. It shouldn't have done that, right? (I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, lol)

Hopefully this round will do the trick. that pic of her is so cute, but she does look a bit out of it. Poor Bean.

  7. When Madalyn was little, Amoxicillin never worked. We always had to upgrade to augmentin. Which would tear her stomach apart. But at least the infection would go away. Hope you see some massive improvements...and sprinklers in your future!

  9. i have to confess that I laughed at the line where you thought she was crying just to annoy you. I know I've been there and then I feel like crap when I find out the poor thing has been in real pain. It's tough being a mom, sooooo tough.
