Ha! Well in case anyone missed the point of the sign...
ReplyDeleteRather, the should have simply put a pile of poop. Cuz they aren't saying your dog can't poop, just that the poop is not welcome to remain.

Jennifer/Mike - You know, I thought that, but I'm pretty sure that POOP is pretty well understood by non-readers and other language speakers. Like, I know the word for poop in about 7 languages. Also, there are about a hundred signs in this park, this is the ONLY one with a picture.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite sign is of the teeter totter which is supposed to indicate a park nearby, but I always shout out "Look out! Teeter totter crossing!!"
Oh, and we have a sign near a retirement home that has 2 people on it. One is hunched and uses a cane and another is walking in an elderly fashion, if one can do so in such a 2 dimensional sign... Quite humorous.

ReplyDeleteYes I totally think it's necessary. Cause it might be someone who doesn't speak English, and might think the sign is saying your dog can't squat or crouch. ;)

ReplyDeleteOhhh, man, you have no idea! After seeing signs in England that not only showed the poop, but included steam lines, my family has made a point of documenting graphic signs, of which the most common are ones like this.
